*NOVEMBER 26 | Thanksgiving Market @ 4:0w0 pm – 7:00 pm

Linwood Library (Slaytfork) – Local Produce and specialty ingredients, fresh homemade pies and treats, kid’s activities, gifts, and more

NOVEMBER 27 | Official Opening Day (weather permitting)

The 50! wild and wonderful winter season is here! Scrape off the summer wax, have an extra cup of coffee and we’ll see you at 9:00am for rope drop. “Weather permitting”

*NOVEMBER 30 |Turkey Trot @ 8:00 am

Green Bank Observatory 155 Observatory Road, Green Bank, WV, United States

Burn off the Thanksgiving feast at the annual Turkey Trot hosted by the Green Bank Observatory! Race in a traditional 5k run/walk, a 10K trail run, or the 1K Gobble Wobble for kids 8 and under.

*DECEMBER 6 |Town of Marlinton Christmas Parade @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Town of Marlinton Main Street, Marlinton, WV, United States

Head to Marlinton for the annual Christmas Parade! Take in the festivities like greeting Santa, sipping cocoa and watching the holiday themed floats pass by. Also, be sure to stop by the Pocahontas County Opera House for the annual Christmas Craft Show. Free

*DECEMBER 7 | A Very Merry Christmas – Boyer Station Campground @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Boyer Station Campground 11038 Potomac Highland Trail, Arbovale, WV, United States

Come and enjoy Christmas Lights at the campground. Boyer Station Campground and other businesses around the area have set up light displays, which you can enjoy from your car. Donations appreciated. Saturdays in December. – FREE

DECEMBER 8 | West Virginia Ski Free

Mountaineers are always free and today so are lift tickets! We love sliding on snow and we love West Virginia so we’re giving free lift tickets to any and all West Virginia residents. Head to the depot with proof of WV residency to redeem your free ticket.

*DECEMBER 10 | Linwood Holiday Market @ 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Linwood Library (Slatyfork) – Join us for our annual holiday market. Tons of vendors, free make and takes for kids, Santa arrives at 5pm, breakfast dinner by AJ or Mama J, Gingerbread houses and more. 

*DECEMBER 14 |Christmas at Cass Holiday Market @ 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Come to Cass Community Center for a wonderful mix of local artisans and vendors. Here, you find those last-minute gifts and our guest of honor, Santa, will be on hand all day long!

DECEMBER 19| Silver Creek Opening Day (weather permitting)

Open slopes in the middle of the day? Check. Legendary night skiing? Got it. A terrain park with a rope tow? Yup. Silver Creek is so back.

DECEMBER 19-22 | Snowshoe 50″ Anniversary Celebration

Who’s ready to party like it’s 19742 Come on up and join us for our 50th
Anniversary Celebration, Dec. 19-22. We’ve got all kinds of throwback fun in the works. Village aprés parties, an all-gold rail jam, a soul train dance party, live music, fireworks, comedy shows, and of course party laps with old friends. Don’t forget to bring that retro ski gear you’ve got packed away!

*DECEMBER 21 |Christmas at Cass Cookie Bake-off and Bingo 

Join us for the second annual Christmas at Cass Christmas Cookie Bake-off (and Bingo) on Saturday, December 21st! Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Cookies must be homemade.
  • Contestants will need to bake 2 batches of cookies – one batch to be cut into tastings by the general public for voting and one for Christmas Cookie Bingo!

*DECEMBER 23 | Polar Express Pajama Party @ 11:00 am

Linwood Library (Slatyfork) – Put on your holiday PJ’s and join us for a magical celebration! Storybook reading, music, crafts, cookie decorating, games and more. No Polar Express Party would be complete without hot chocolate! We hope you join us! All ages welcome! 

DECEMBER 24 | Village Christmas Celebration- Village

In the heart of Appalachia the holidays are best spent together. Gather with friends and family new and old as the spirit of Christmas comes to life in the mountains. Join us for Christmas carols, holiday cheer, and a visit from the big man himself.

DECEMBER 23 – December 31 | Holiday Celebrations

The holidays in Appalachia are a time when the rugged beauty of the
landscape and the warmth of its people come together to create a one-of-a-kind experience. Pair that with glistening slopes, twinkling lights, and the nostalgia of the holidays to get some magical mountain memories.

DECEMBER 31 | New Year’s Eve Parties

Slap on that snow gear, lace up those party boots, and slide into the new year. We’re hosting a few parties around the mountain this year. Whether you’re looking for a romantic midnight kiss, family fun, or just want to dance the year away, we’re sure to have the perfect venue for you and your crew.


JANUARY 18-20 Martin Luther King Weekend

Join us for the long weekend at Snowshoe. We’ll be hosting activities on and off
the slopes.

FEBRUARY 1-2|SARA (Southern Alpine Racing Association)

The Southern Alpine Racing Association returns for a weekend of racing. This weekend will feature two days of racing with Giant Slalom and Slalom events. This is a ski only event.

FEBRUARY 3| Cupp Run Challenge

The Cupp Run Challenge is infamous for steep slopes, tight turns, and
challenging conditions. Skiers and Snowboarders alike can put themselves to the test on this historic day.

FEBRUARY 15-17| President’s Day Weekend

Join us for the long weekend at Snowshoe. We’ll be hosting activities on and off the snow.

FEBRUARY 21] Rider Boot Camp- Skiercross/Boardercross Camp

Back for a second year, the Skier and Boardercross bootcamp kicks off a heart pumping weekend of racing at the ‘Shoe. Get extra time on our
skier/boardercross track with expert coaching from Snowshoe’’s own Ski and Ride School. USASA membership required.

FEBRUARY 22-23| SARA U1é AND UP Championship at Silvercreek

SARA Is back on the mountain with some hardware to give out, This
championship race is for skiers in the U16-U21 and Master’s classes. The two day event will feature Giant Slalom on Saturday and Slalom on Sunday. It’s all gas and no brakes to the championship!

FEBRUARY 22-23 |USASA Boardercross and Skiercross

Perhaps the most exciting form of racing on snow, boarder and skier cross
features 4 riders at once on a course with berms, jumps, and rollers. Line choice and strategy will be key over this two day event as racers battle for position. A USASA membership is required for this event.

MARCH 1-2 | Darn Tough Banked Slalom

After the USASA event, our park crew will modify the course for the Darn Tough Banked Slalom. Snowboarders will race Saturday and Skiers toe the line on Sunday with awards and a party at the Boathouse after each day. Don’t miss this fun and exciting weekend.

MARCH 7-9 | Snowshoe Pride Weekend

Celebrate the spirit of unity by coming together for a weekend of fun both on and off the slopes.

MARCH 15-16 | College Weekend | Pond Skim

Class? What class? All you need to learn can be taught on the mouniain. We’re giving lessons in carves, jios, skims, and pariying. Trade sweaiy beaches and coarse sand for soft snow and good vibes.

March 23| West Virginia Ski Free Day

We love skiing as much as we love West, by God, Virginia! We love ‘em both so much we’re inviting the whole state jo ski for free! Bring proof of WV residency to the Depot to redeem your free day of skiing.

MARCH 23 | Snowshoe Closing Day

In the words of Semisonic, “Closing Time.” The last day of winter season is always a bit bittersweet. To ease the pain of ski season ending, we’ll have free lift tickets for all WV residents Too! Make the most of the soft snow, warm temps, and free lift tickets before the skis get stored and the mountain bikes appear.
